Ko-fi Alternative

Ko-fi grew out of tipping, and it still shows in the best way: free, friendly, quick to set up. Its shop is an add-on to a supporter page rather than the main event. paytoview.nl starts from the opposite end — the sale is the product.

When each one actually makes sense

Choose Ko-fi if…

  • Most of your income is tips or ongoing support, not one-off sales
  • You want the lowest possible cost and don't need delivery protections
  • An artist-style supporter page fits how your audience sees you

Choose paytoview.nl if…

  • You're selling a file at a price, not asking for support
  • Your buyers pay with iDEAL
  • You need the download traceable if it leaks
  • You want a limited drop that closes itself

Frequently asked

Is Ko-fi free?

The free plan has no monthly cost and takes 5% on shop sales; Ko-fi Gold removes that percentage for a monthly fee. Payment processing sits on top either way. It's genuinely one of the cheapest options available.

Why would I pay 15% instead?

Only if you need what the fee buys: iDEAL for Dutch buyers, per-buyer watermarking, single-use links, and sales caps or end dates. If you're selling a €5 download to supporters who happily pay by card, Ko-fi is the more sensible tool and we'd say so.

Can I use both?

Yes, and it's a reasonable setup: Ko-fi for tips and ongoing support, paytoview.nl for the individual files you sell at a real price.
